Social Asking Champions Women’s Football: Announcing Our Sponsorship of the Women’s Football Awards 2023

Football transcends boundaries and brings people together. Now women’s football is capturing more people’s hearts than ever before too.  Here are the facts:

  • 100,000 more girls are playing football in England than 5 years ago.
  • 87,000 fans attended Wembley Stadium to watch the Lioness’ victory.
  • 17,400,000 tuned into the BBC’s coverage of that game.
  • 30,000,000 women and girls are playing football around the globe.
  • 365,000,000 viewers watched the 2022 Women’s Euro

Every one of them has something to say. At Social Asking, we want to uplift these voices and we’re thrilled to announce our sponsorship of the Women’s Football Awards’ Champion of the Year Award signaling our commitment to the growth and recognition of women’s football.  We champion the women in our lives and work towards a more inclusive and equitable future.

We at Social Asking understand the importance of stories, insights and the shared experiences that connect us all.  Our mission to make every voice count encompasses fans, communities, and, of course, women. And just as every goal matters in a match, every voice matters to us.

But, Women’s football is more than just a game—it’s a potent catalyst for social change and a platform for championing gender equality. As women take to the pitch, they break down deeply entrenched gender stereotypes, challenging the traditional notions that confine sports like football to one gender.  Women’s football has the power to showcase the unyielding spirit of incredible athletes and inspire generations of young girls to pursue their dreams.

The flagship inaugural Women’s Football Awards spotlights and recognizes these amazing athletes.  Tonight, May 25, 2023 hosts Eni Aluko and Jamie Carragher will recognize women footballers as well as brands, businesses and grassroots organizations making a positive difference to the growth of the sport.

Behind every successful woman in soccer, there is a story of perseverance, grit, and determination. Champions aren’t made in the spotlight, they’re made in the shadows, battling against societal norms and barriers. As a proud sponsor and ally, Social Asking recognizes the challenges that female players face on and off the pitch. But we’re also hopeful that society is evolving and breaking down those barriers. As a business, we must do everything we can to support and encourage female players, providing them with the opportunities they deserve. Today’s female players are more than athletes, they are role models inspiring the next generation of champions. We’re honored to join forces with the Women’s Football Awards and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for women’s soccer.

We believe that the journey of every athlete, every team, and every supporter is a testament to the power of the sport–that’s why we’re excited to further our commitment to women’s football, contributing not just as sponsors but also as fans and advocates for the sport.  Cheers to all the nominees and a huge round of applause for tonight’s winners!
